I've never had pigs in blankets or any sausages on xmas day. Is that a regional thing? I honestly don't recall any Xmas dinner I've been to serving sausages.

I'll have a turkey dinner in the evening I suppose, and then turkey sandwiches the next day. Don't even like poultry but I get accused of spoiling everyone's day if I demand something else instead.

Usually a few glasses of port at lunchtime. Back in the day I used to go down the pub with a few mates for a couple of hours before the turkey was served but don't bother with that these days. Selfish bastards only decided to get married and have kids, and thus they want to spend the day with their children.

Will just have some xmas beers in the evening once the port has gone. Boxing Day is sherry. Used to go and visit my grandparents and cousins in the countryside but that won't be happening now as I'm persona non grata up there. Can't wait for the whole thing to be over.

The funny thing about that photo is that he will have no idea what it refers to

Christmas Day 10am my usual drinking group go round to one of the older chap's house (he's on his own) and start on the whiskey til around 1pm then some go home and some go to the pub. As a lightweight (obviously in drinking only) I go home finish off cooking the dinner and relax.

It's mildly subtle. He definitely won't have a clue.

May have copped a bit of light hearted flak if the post ended after the first sentence, as he's honestly the only person I've encountered who has never heard of them. But then goes on to suggest he will have to force down a Turkey dinner, wistfully recalls days gone by of going down the pub with mates and now anticipates only being able to drink himself into a stupor as half his family don't want anything to do with him.

It really is a crescendo of woe so hope he was joking...
