    Lakeside 2014 Qualification

    There is a document!

    http://www.bdodarts.com/uploads/file...Tables%201.pdf

    However many unanswered questions:

    - Where is the England Masters?
    - How many spots qualify from each table? This is very basic information that still hasnt been clarified and yet again could mean favourites could be wedged into Lakeside based on their finishing position.
    - Which players are eligible for each table? Otherwise you could get Brits going over to Europe and stealing spots that way
    - Do the organisers of events such as the German and Scottish know they have to find more money to stay ranked?
    - Why are the BDO saying that any event that clashes with a BRITISH county weekend may be stripped of points? I thought it was a World Championship, why do the Brits feel they are that important?
    - Do the exemptions for semi finalist/previous winners still remain?

Probably more questions will emerge once I have read it again.

You pair of faggots are exactly why the site is dying on it's arse.
Playing your queer little games, point scoring and PMing each other on what to do from day to day.
You're a fat, sad, chess playing, obese loser who has to sneak into the kids toilets to post on here..... what the fuck does that say about you?

Also interesting that they are making all events seed 32 players based on the BDO rankings (not WDF), and spot the 180 day eligibility rule. Any Dutch players out there want to play in Euro Event 5 this weekend? Fine, but dont count on being allowed to enter the Dutch Open in February then.

As one of the Dutch lads said to me on Facebook, He has entered Tomorrow and Ghent next week, He said he bets they dont stop him playing next week and all the others that do the same, Going to be to dificult to police it,
The only way to have a friend is to be a friend

Its nice to be important but more important to be nice

There is a few around in the game of darts

"You wana play rough!! OK. Say hello to mt little friend"

I agree with the points raised, but I think it is more than a good effort to clarify things.

Biggest issue is knowing how many qualify from each section and therefore allow the players to plan up front. I do think though it goes along way to providing a structure that will work for both the players and tv.

The only concern is the line that allows board discression, I hope this does not mean points changes etc. Although looking at the points system that would be pretty hard to do.

It also looks like the rolling table has definately gone, only eight or so to do now! Hope the software is up to the task ;)

That's annoying, but it doesn't surprise me. Even Tommy Thompson believes that WDF-affiliated bodies in Europe should take into account the BICC calendar when choosing a date for their ranking tournament. And I suppose I can see his point, as the BDO would surely want the top players to play county rather than seek ranking points abroad. The county system is very much at the heart of what the BDO do, and the UK is still the home of darts.

Nine weekends out of 52 isn't insignificant but not that much of an obstacle either. I guess the best time to organise an event next year would be somewhere between late May and late August. But there are plenty of other weekends where there is no county action during the season, like all of November and most of October for example.

The BDO run the Lakeside. The BDO run county. Heaven forbid they don't want two things they run conflicting with each other.
