 Re: Nikkiboy's Blogs
The BDO have a massive playing base, excellent players and officials and some really decent events, but, and it is a big but, do they have the knowhow to put together an alternative professional tour along the lines of the Pro Tour? There is no doubting that in order to do so they will have to bring in a team of professional marketing and management personnel in order to take it forward
Good piece, I found the above point interesting. Obviously you would imagine it would be in BDO's future interests to attempt to mimic the PDC in order to preserve the integrity at the top-end, but for those (and I imagine that is most of us) who want to see a unified game is a financially more lucrative BDO really such a good thing? If anything it is likely to polarize the game further, create further divides and ultimately corrupt the game (if this isn't already happening in a divided game). The PDC takeover would seem the most viable option for a unified game, two strong opposing codes could make the split last indefinitely.

 Re: Nikkiboy's Blogs
I actually think theres a "window of opportunity" for the BDO to make a viable serious alternative to the PDC at the top end of the game as a result of the tour card to be honest.
The PDC knew this, and it was the fundamental reasson behind the whole takeover lark, and why they are attempting further disruptions with the world cup, youth, womens tournies etc etc - they need as little as possible happening at the top end whilst the tour card system settles and want the reamining household names over as quick as poss
Whether the BDO do anything to capitalise on this chance to rack up a bit of stability there or not, is another matter.
Histroy says it would be odds against.

Well well well, just a couple of hours after posting my blog on Fair Trade vs Rainforest Alliance coffee I had a reply from the Rainforest Alliance which I have added my response, and who says blogs don't get any good replies http://codsdarts.co.uk/blogger/?p=145#comments
